Ma Sophia Ambida | MS, CCC-SLP, TSSLD

Ma Sofia Ambida is a speech-language pathologist specializing in adult neurological communication and swallowing disorders. She earned her master’s degree from CUNY Hunter College and provides individualized, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care. During graduate training, she received talent‑acquisition recognition at her externships, an endowed scholarship, and an Evidence‑Based Practice Poster Award for her research on Parkinson’s Disease and bilingualism. Her remote 1:1 and group services support safe eating, functional communication, and reengagement in meaningful daily interactions.

Sofia has experience across skilled nursing facilities, outpatient neurorehabilitation, acute care, and private practice. She works with individuals with conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and other neurological disorders, supporting speech, language, cognition, and safe swallowing.

Her clinical approach focuses on helping clients return to meaningful communication in everyday life - from participating in conversations to safely enjoying meals. She is SPEAK OUT! and LOUD Crowd certified, FEES-trained, and a Tobii Dynavox AAC approved evaluator.

During her free time, Sofia enjoys traveling to new countries, trying local cuisine, and immersing herself in diverse cultures. She also has a love for travel photography, reading books, and creating art.
